STILL NO CLUE
Jack the Ripper notified the London police by letter on Monday last that he would resume operations in a day or two from that time. On the following night he murdered and horribly mutilated a woman within two hundred feet of a sentry box in which was stationed one of the large squad of policemen who were specially charged with the duty of watching for the fiend. The London policemen must be a shrewd, vigilant lot of fellows to permit so many horrible murders to be perpetrated right under their very noses by the Whitechapel butcher.
