Jack the Ripper asks the favor of the Montreal Police
Montreal, Dec.19 A diminutive individual, about four feet six inches in height and apparently a "crank", is under arrest here. He wrote a letter to the chief of police claiming that he is "Jack the Ripper", the Whitechapel murderer. He says he has just arrived from London by way of Boston. He asks for an investigation and says he wants to be hung. He is dressed in the latest London fashion and has an unmistakable cockney accent.
