Notorious Englishman Visits American Cities
New York, Dec. 3.
The World claims to have learned that Hammond, the man who kept the infamous house in Cleveland street, London, where the
West End club scandals originated, and who fled to America, arrived here on the steamer Pennland about six weeks ago, and
registered at a hotel in Christopher street as Charles Bolton, of Paris. He left for Philadelphia shortly afterward. He was
accompanied by a boy who passed as his on. Hammond is said to have in his possession evidence incriminating several prominent
members of the English aristocracy.
