One Deeming, who is or was supposed to be "Jack the Ripper", who committed so many murders in the Whitechapel district of
London, has been on trial in Melbourne, Australia, for the murder of his wife. He was convicted Monday and sentenced to
death. An effort to prove him insane failed.
