Arthur Williams married a local belle of Rainhill, near Liverpool, and went to Melbourne with her, where he killed her and buried her body under a fireplace. This led to the exploration of his residence at Rainhill and the bodies of a woman and four children were found buried under the fireplace there. It is now believed that his name is Arthur Wilson of Melbourne, that the woman and two of the children are his wife and children, and that he is probably Jack the Ripper, who killed and mutilated nine women in London in 1888 and 1889.
