ALL RIPPER READERS!!! YOU MUST CHECK THIS OUT. A rare book, published in 1936 and titled 'The Fifty Most Amazing Crimes of the Last 100 Years', recently resurfaced and has a chapter on Jack the Ripper written by F.A. Beaumont. This is an important factual take on the case written in the first 50 years after the murders. It is now available in facsimile form for only $10.00 (American). Please contact Tom Wescott by e-mail at JackRpr88@aol.com for details.

JUDITH: Hi! Sorry to hear of your difficulties. I'm sure you know a greal deal more of the book biz than me ... but I've ordered many books online since finding this site, with results varying from sublime to frustrating. Arrival dates ran from one week to eight weeks. Perhaps you've already contacted Tom Wescott's Internet Service Provider - AOL. As you probably know, America On Line is a major ISP ... which would be greatly interested in knowing if their service has been used for fraudulent purposes. Plus they can advise you on any legal measure you or they can take. Here's hoping AOL can give you better news - Tom's computer crashed, but your book is now "in the mail." Take care, Janice

Dear all, As someone who has sold a number of books using these pages I am most distressed to hear of this as naturally it gives everyone cause to pause when reading about my offerings. I must take issue with what Mr Westcott said though. The book mentioned is not a rare book by any stretch of the imagination ( I have a copy for sale myself) It is part of the Odhams press series of 50 most amazing **** stories. Others in the series included Adventure, Spy, Thriller tc etc. The theory offered is the Buenos Aires mad doctor avenging son. The one claim to fame that this book may make is that it was the one that got Colin Wilson interested in Jack the Ripper. It is well worth having as it contains a lot of studies of famous cases. all the best Bob Hinton

Thanks for worries and good words; I, too, have ordered many books online and have never had a problem--even allowing for loooooooong shipping times. The problem here seems to be that there have been no answers at all, either from Wescott or the friend who is fielding his e-mail for him. He (Wescott) was very prompt to answer my first enquiry, after that---nothing at all. Let me say, I'll be more than glad to post a public (and LOUD) apology, if he has run into difficulties of any sort; I do think, however, since he has my money and my mailing address, he could have dashed off a short note to explain whatever problems he might be having. I, like Bob Hinton, have books for sale online, and fast shipping is vital to maintain the trust we are trying to establish. So, Thomas Wescott, please give me a good reason to apologize--I'll be more than glad to do just that--just send the book, an explanation or return the money. Regards to all, Judy

Hello All, I am just now checking out this board since being back on the net and all I can say is... DAMN!!! I'm sorry my computer problems have caused such an uproar. Let me assure you that I'm not in the business of (pardon the pun) ripping people off, and certainly not for $10.00. An odd series of circumstances has held me up from mantaining my end of the bargain with Judith. However, all is well now and I'm all ready to ship her copy out to her. And on another note, I believe that Bob and I are talking about two different books. The one I'm referring to is called 'The Fifty Most Amazing Crimes of the Last 100 Years'. The chapter was written by F. A. Beaumont. It's been a while since I read it myself, but I don't seem to remember it supporting a particular theory, and certainly not a Buenos Aires mad doctor. However, if I'm wrong, I do apoligize, but I believe we're discussing two different books. Anyway, if anyone would like a copy, I'd be glad to send it out to you, and due to my damaged reputation, I wouldn't ask that you send me the money until AFTER YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR BOOK. Just email me so we can exchange info. the price is the same at $10.00 (American currency). I hope I hear from you soon. Until then... Yours truly, Tom Wescott

I've also posted on the General board a loud and public apology to Tom Wescott. Apparently, strange circumstances prevented Tom getting the reprint to me, but that has been sorted, the reprint arrived today and all is well in Oz. Apologies for my SNAKE OIL ALERT to Tom. Regards to all, Judy Stock
