Ivor:

I wish. :) That's merely one of the Vancouver Island shuttles sitting in Coal Harbor. I did use to be in the Air Scouts though (dishonorable discharge involving a Girl Guide).

Regards
Timsta

PS if I'm not mistaken though, it's a De Havilland Beaver.

Talkin' 'bout guillotinin' --

I remember the old Peter Kurten interview, concerning his upcoming execution. He said he was looking forward to it. He planned to position himself in such a way that his head would fall into the basket with his ear pointed back at the stump of his neck. He figured he'd have about 5 seconds of consciousness left before he blacked out, if he set his mind to it. In this 5 seconds, he'd be able to hear the delightful music of his heart frantically pumping his blood out through his carotid arteries, splashing up against the blade.

Kind of makes you misty, don't it?

David

But remember people, don't try that at home. It makes a mess of the carpet.

Well, I just finished this dog of a book (nothing personal to the rest of the canines I might add).

So what if she refers to MJK as slender, calls the first victim Martha TabraN, and treats Sickert and JTR interchangeably, but...

Ms. Cornwell says that Goulston Street is virtually at the Berner St crime-scene.

How can anyone who sub-titles a book "Case Closed" not know the simple geography of the area being studied? The last time I looked, Goulston was north of the Whitechapel Road, Berner St is south. Goulston appears NNE of Mitre Square, Berner appears E.

True, both Berner and Goulston are NOT WEST of Mitre Square....perhaps this is what Ms. Cornwell meant by "virtually".

If she has made such a sophomoric mistake as this, I wonder how many other 'facts' are incorrect?

Ms. Cornwell uses the court-room analogy throughout her book, what would stand the scrutiny of a jury.
I can tell you this: Once a witness is caught in a lie, it casts considerable doubt on the rest of his (or her) testimony.

Hi All,

There was in previous weeks considerable controversy on the boards about whether Ms. Cornwell had indeed insulted all those interested in the case at her December 10th address at VFI.

This Sunday, at 6:30pm EST, C-SPAN2 will be reairing her question and answer period. People can judge for themselves the comments by Ms. Cornwell.

Rich

Hi, Rich:

Thanks for providing the link to the rebroadcast of Patricia Cornwell's December 10th address at the Virginia Forensic Institute coming up this Sunday, at 6:30 pm EST, on C-SPAN2. I will probably toggle between Cornwell and the Super Bowl.

All the best

Chris

Terry,

You said: "So what if she refers to MJK as slender"

Hey, she was! Just look at the photos, she was practically skin and bones.

You know, I decided to check this one out of the library. I was on a waiting list for three months, and when I picked it up the other day, the librarian told me I could only have it for a week because there were so many people still waiting. I'm reading it as it was written--fast and on the fly.

Hi,
I was reading the newspapers over the weekend and noticed that there was a book club that was offering Patsy's book as one of their introductory membership selections for the grand total of twenty five cents US.
Still overpriced.
