The masonic connection leaves a lot to be answered part of the masonic ritual tells of the mutilation of bodies simular to that described. I wonder.....

Jack the Ripper, from the "A Treasury of Victorian Murder" series, by Rick Geary, Nantier-Beall-Minoustchine, NY (1995). This book is basically a picture book, with minimal narration, which I did not know when I ordered it. But the black-and-white drawings are quite good and interesting, and the written narration is well done. It covers the five murders and little else - no real speculation as to the identy of the Ripper.
