Casebook Message Boards: Ripper Media: Specific Titles: Comic Books: Wonder Woman: Amazonia (1997)

Writing by William Messner-Loebs, art by Phil Winslade Elseworlds, Spring 1997. 48 pages, prestige format. I bought a new comic "Wonder Woman: Amazonia". It is set in the 1890's, and Jack the Ripper is the King of England. It seems that he was a distant cousin of Prnce "Eddy", and kills Nicholls, Chapman, Eddowes, and Stride. Then he slaughters the Royal family, leaving a clear line to the throne, and covers up the slaughter with a fire. Eddy is the only one left alive, and is in no condition to be king, so Jack becomes King Jack, and makes England over in his twisted image. There is also a reference to Maybrick as well. In the end Wonder Woman wins, and marries Jack's son. Overall it was a fun read, much in the same vein as "Gotham by Gaslight", both are under the Elseworlds title.
