R & P Hinton Jack the Ripper's London Indexed Wall Map, Approx. 33" x 25". B/W, with separate booklet street index R & P Hinton, 1997 A map of Whitechapel and environs, gridded and indexed, Jack the Ripper's London is a useful piece fashioned upon a great idea, but forged with little creativity. The map itself is an enlargement of the general area maps of London made at the time (showing streets, buildings, railroads... very detailed), but no where on the map or the accompanying index is it stated what year the original map portrayed. A thrice-folded sheet of A4 paper serves as the index to the map, listing well over 300 streets and pointing to their location within the grid. This makes glancing for specific streets lightning-fast, though there are a few which are surprisingly not included on the list (Berner Street, for example -- Batty Street for another). The map is quite useful to anyone who studies the case in-depth, but those not so involved needn't jump at the chance to order it. Jack the Ripper's London can be ordered for the price of £9.95 + £1.50 Post & Packing. Orders can be sent to: Mr. Inky Print & Design P.O. Box 20 Llanelli S. Wales SA14 9YL England

Hi Karen I should warn you and others that I attempted to buy this map last December. My letter and cheque were returned by the Post Office since no such organisation exists at the address given. I don't know how long ago Mr Inky was in existence - the 20th November date above is misleading because it was day on which Stephen transferred all the old boards data across. Unless and until somebody here can tell you of an alternative supplier, don't bother with it. Best Wishes

Dear Everyone, Mr Inky Print & Design was a business run by my son. However the map referred to was obtainable exclusively through Greyhouse Books. It was part of our agreement that we would not sell them ourselves. It has been advertised quite widely in their lists. If anyone has any problem getting any relevant maps please contact me and I will help you out. Bob Hinton
