The production of this "showcase" version will hopefully be staged by the Beckenham (Kent) based "Dance Company" which is a professional dance and theatre training organisation for youngsters. It is run by an old business associate of mine who, after selling his business in the late 1980's decided to invest in and devote a good deal of his time involved in the theatrical business. They have only just received the demo and libretto and are now in the process of reviewing the show with a view to starting work in a few weeks time. At the same time, we are circulating the demo package to other similar organisations and schools in the area which will hopefully catch the eye of some impressario who might want to take it on for a more detailed approach. The main thrust of the show is based upon Stephen Knights book, The Final Soloution, which I first read in December 1976. Prior to this, I had no particular interest in the subject but something obviously hooked me and I read and re-read the book many times until I discovered "The Ripper and the Royals" about 3/4 years ago. This co-incided with my collaboration with Simon Pergande and once we had written a number of songs, indluding a 20 minute opus about the sinking of The Titanic, we set about searching for a suitable subject upon which to write a musical - it didn't take us very long.

Although we only have a rough(ish) demo version recorded a couple of years ago on 8 track analogue, we can make CD copies. If anyone would like one, e-mail me at mjlewis@idzero.co.uk and I will provide you with further info, cost etc.
