Casebook Message Boards: Pub Talk: Introducing myself
Author: David Jetson Monday, 16 December 2002 - 11:42 am | |
Hello there. I'm a long-time reader of these boards and this site, and I've now decided that since I have found a thread that I can contribute to in a meaningful way, I might as well join up. So - about me: I'm 37, live in Melbourne, Australia, and I've had an interest in JtR and crime in general since I was a teenager. I am by no means obsessed, like some folks, but I have read a fair bit about JtR, as well as other famous crimes. In real life, I make my living by being a computer technician and I supplement that with being a musician and writer. Last time I seriously thought about it, I was inclined to believe that Kaminski is the "best" suspect, but if someone comes up with something that convinces me otherwise, I'm prepared to modify my opinion. And now I'm off to contribute to a couple of threads.

Hi David, Your CV sounds a bit like mine. I'm 39 (close) I work in IT I play in a band Suspicious :-) Perhaps we can cobble some wacky theory tegether out of it.. I'm a newby myself, but the people here seem a good bunch to me. They're pretty gentle with us newcomers. Cheers Stu

Hi Stuart. After posting I figured out that I should have just added to the "Hi, I'm new" thread. Oh well. Thanks for the welcome. I'm a guitarist and I play in a duo at the moment. There may well be grounds for a conspiracy here - given the amount of published stuff on the most ridiculous premises and co-incidences, why not? I'm a bit of a skeptic, and I honesly don't think that the crime can be solved with the evidence that is available to us now: unless something else turns up - which is possible - we're going to have to put up with nutcases like Patricia Cornwell and her "proof" of Sickert being JtR, based, as far as I can tell, mainly on her personal dislike of the man. Jack is a fascinating case, but the lack of much actual proof makes it a nutcase-magnet too.

I just put a picture up in my profile, doing my best insane grin. Which, according to some theories, could prove I am Jack. Except that I was born 77 years after the murders. Or so I claim.
