Casebook Message Boards: Beyond Whitechapel - Other Crimes: The Westphalia Murders
Author: Michael Conlon Thursday, 16 May 2002 - 08:56 pm | |
-just came across this from The New York Times for Oct.8,1888, in an article discussing the Whitechapel murders: "The Westphalia murders, a few years ago, with most shocking mutilation of the bodies, of which twenty young women were the victims, are of similar origin. Only recently in Texas there was a series of butcheries of young women all perpetrated under circumstances so peculiar as to point to a homicidal lunatic as their author." I am familiar with the Texas murders, but not with the "Westphalia murders". Does anyone know about them? Best regards, Mike
