What do you think of Diddles the kitten as a witness at four o'clock in the morning?

(Mrs. Prater's kitty)

Hello Trish,
Rather than a witness, have you considered the possibility that this seemingly cute, innocent, little, ball of fluff could have actually been the killer?
Consider the evidence--those razor sharp claws,Prater's neck being the target area, and of course, being so cute, was able to put at ease, its victims!

Regards,

Mick Lyden

Its true that animals are more sensitive than humans so although it seems likely something disturbed the kitten , it doesn't mean it was Jack.

In fact , it could be a case of miaow-staken identity...

The Ripper lit the fire to try to burn the cat, that's what.

Simon--Do you think this was sort of like the inverse of Holmes' dog that didn't bark in the night?

The purrrfect crime - but all might have gone cat-astrophically wrong, with curiosity killing the cat and her mistress, or Diddles sinking her claws into a carrotty mouse-tache.

Love,

Caz

I do know this RJ - that , in ancient Japan , when a ninja warrior attempted to gain access to a castle , the frogs in the moat would stop croaking thus potentially alerting the garrison. So the ninja carried a special paste which he smeared on the backs of a few frogs , this kept them making a noise and the rest of them of course followed suite.
As to a dog , I'd suspect that he would bark if he heard a disturbance rather than keep silent.
If a fire was lit in the grate of the room below , the extra heat may have woken the kitten up , but I wouldn't try to prove anything by this theory.
That of course could be cat-astrophic...
