Casebook Message Boards: General Discussion: General Topics: New Technology

If it is ever solved it will be because somebody came up with a new crime fighting technology. I have wondered, if my DNA has a complete recipe for me, why wouldn't it be possible to have a computer program which would take my DNA and using it alone come up with a pretty good likeness of my physical appearance? (of course I had the same DNA as a baby and I'll have the same DNA when I'm 80 if I last that long so the output would have to show "me" at various ages. Of course we don't have Jack's DNA, alas! But what other new ideas might come along?

Diana: Physical appearance has surprisingly little to do with DNA. A host of other factors are involved, many of them related to time spent in the womb. Are you familiar with CC the cloned cat? Looks nothing like her, uh, 'mother'. Regards Timsta
