This is the Rectory Field where Montague Druitt would have played This picture was accompanied by this info: The Rectory Field has been the home of Blackheath FC since January 1883. Two years later Morden Cricket Club (renamed to Blackheath CC) joined the club and also the Blackheath Lawn Tennis Club. A Company called the Blackheath Cricket, Football and Lawn Tennis Co. Ltd. was formed to provide the sports facilities at the Rectory Field, which now also includes Squash. These sports are still thriving today

Hi Chris, as always, you post some really cool stuff. Thank you! But as far as "thriving" I only see 3 people in the stands. Maybe everyone else is at home reading Cornballs book :-), Yours, Brad

Chris I too thoroughly enjoy your posts. Lately you've brought forth so many very informative details, pictures and of course your undivided attention to all. I am trying to stay totally in the background now. I will send posts such as these, but otherwise keep my opinions to myself. It is not worth the aggravation to myself or any other poster who really is interested in learning from persons like yourself to get involved with debates that have no ending. I felt that I had something to offer, be it only my own opinion, but I obviously don't and won't take up the time of important posters whose opinion is the only one. Enough said. Thank you for your patience and your courtesy. julie

Hi Julie Your comments are really appreciated, believe me. My own take on things on these boards is that what gives me a buzz is research rather than theorising - thats why you'll see posts from me me on so many subjects. I basically just follow whatever takes my fancy at the time. As I don't have a pet theory and won't get involved in any protracted arguments about personality or opinion I just move on to something new:-) All I do is offer what I have found for folks to use as they wish - that's all Howvere, I always read anyone's opinion with interest and in my humble opinion everyone is worth listening to. There are people on these boards of all levels of experience and expertise in the subject. Even if someone posts an opinion that contains factual errors, that can be politely pointed out in such a way that the poster will see it as a learning experience rather than a criticism. Thanks again for your comments and I hope you continue to enjoy what I post Best regards Chris S
