Author: Ashleah Skinner Saturday, 23 November 2002 - 09:10 pm | |
On Uk Living UK on Tuesday 26 November 2002 (Not sure Of the time) Scream Team which is a bunch of normal people will investigate the Jack the Ripper murders and use paranormal investigations to put a name to JTR. I will be watching the programme as its JTR but im not sure it will do any justice Just thought for those interested it would be nice to have a look

Hi Ashleah, I was interviewed to do several TV programmes about my research into the planning and execution of the murders and Scream Team was one of them. The programme relates to my book Jack the Ripper's Black Magic Rituals.A Psychic was called in to try and pick up anything paranormal relating to my suspect.

Scream Team is transmitted between 9 and 10 pm GMT on Living, you lucky digital TV viewers . I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for any deep insights though, as the other programmes that I've seen in this series have merely involved a bunch of suggestible people being fed a load of claptrap by a group of incorrigible charlatans. Cheers Guy

Hi Ashleah, I do not know the names of the other programmes but one was dubbed for French TV and that went out about a week or so ago. Paul Begg also appeared in the French programme (so the producer told me ) so Paul may be able to tell you the name of it.The other I recorded for cable TV and as far as I know it has not been shown yet. I really did not bother to remember the names of all the programmes I just went ahead and did them. Until you posted I had no idea that the Scream Team ripper programme was on this week I thought it was out in December which shows the interest I take in doing programmes.I was also invited to ask questions on the BBC 4 programme about Patricia Cornwall ( the name of which has alluded me ) on the 27th Nov.The latter holds less interest for me if the truth was known.

Ashleah - Don't get me wrong, I'll be watching too. All I was saying was that people probably shouldn't expect too much from the programme. All the Best Guy

When I was asked to do the Scream Team programme the show had never been transmitted before so I had no idea what to expect. When I viewed the first few programmes I was not impressed with them.

Hi Ashleah, Until tonight I had no idea what the psychic was going to say.She stated she knew nothing about the Cricketers Inn she was investigating. She pictured the subject and descibed the time as the 1880's ( D'Onston was in the pub during that time) and the mental picture she had was of a man who was a doctor,a writer, and had a scientific mind. D'Onston was a doctor who also wrote a book and was indeed a scientific writer for the papers. She added the subject was very curious as to how the body worked and was very neat and tidy.Cremers who knew D'Onston said he was very neat and tidy and his clothes were worn by brushing. The psychic added the subject made her feel that she had to brush her clothes to keep him happy and sit up straight. She inferred that her subject was of a certain class ( D'Onston was of that class). The picture she was drawing on her pad according to the producer was like the picture of D'Onston which he had received from me and I agree. She went on to add that the subject thought people did not understand him. D'Onston told Cremers that she would not understand him.She said her subject was the type of man who would not let nothing get in his way if he set his mind to something. In short everything she said fitted D'Onston like a glove she was spot on.When I first made a visit to the Cricketers Inn and checked out the rooms upstairs a gut feeling made me say to the landlord, "I would love to pull up the floor boards and look behind the cavity in the partitions".That landlord left ages ago so the psychic never met him. Tonight the psychic stated that she had a mental picture of the subject pulling up a floorboard to hide his writings. For the record I do not believe in spooks and gooks and things that go bump in the night but I take my hat off to this psychic and give credit where it is due.Tonight I got rather a surprise to say the least. The programme makers were incorrect to state that D'Onston came from Brighton and that he was a new suspect apart from those two mistakes I cannot complain. In fact when interviewed I was asked if D'Onston was a new suspect to which I replied, "No he was a suspect in 1888" but that was edited from the programme. If you would care to e-mail me Ashleah I will supply you with any information I can on the subject.

Brad, The scream team never named anyone it was not that type of program. They were investigating my claim that my suspect who was staying at the Cricketers Inn prior to the Whitechapel murders was Jack the Ripper and that he had planned the murders while staying at the Cricketers. They sent a psychic to the Cricketers to see what would happen and everyone got a surprise including me.

Dear Ivor.......On numerous occasions, people who claimed to have paranormal abilities have helped the police( at least over here in the US )find evidence in criminal cases. I know what you mean about not believing in spooky stuff,but.....you never know !

Ivor - Out of curiosity: Do you happen to know whether the psychic's contribution was shot before or after yours? Cheers Guy

Hi Guy, Mine was shot in the afternoon away from the cricketers Inn and then I left. The psychic's contribution was shot during the evening.

Thanks Ivor. Old cynic that I am, I couldn't help wondering whether the producers could have passed some of the information you'd given on to the psychic. All the Best Guy

Hi Guy,No one can blame you for thinking such things. I know with this particular programme that they are very strict in such matters and they go out of their way to make sure that the psychics they use are given no information in advance which may aid them.Even the team are given their next task on the day in a sealed envelope.

Incidentally, I'm half way through your book as we speak, Ivor. Enjoying it greatly so far - we seem to be having some kind of convergence of thoughts John
