I've recently acquired a first edition of this hard-to-find work, and since the cover-art is so rarely seen (particularly in color) I thought it might be of enough interest to post it here. This is the Mellifont 1937 edition:

Very cool. I love vintage illustrations. This one has such bright and cheery colors that you'd almost think it was a children's book... except, of course, for the odd gentleman with the ominous luggage. Luckily for us the villain's mother apparently sewed his name into his coat so he wouldn't lose it. Now all we need to do is find a suspect by the name of Ken. |

I'm auctioning off the above-pictured copy of Woodhall's 1st edition Jack the Ripper; Or, When London Walked in Terror, to raise some funds for the Casebook. If you are interested in bidding you may do so at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3595845814 Thanks for your support! Stephen P. Ryder, Editor Casebook: Jack the Ripper |
