There has always been speculation as to what motivated JTR. Theories have run the gamut from black magic to religious mania but generally the accepted belief is that his motivation was sexual. I have always found it puzzling that no semen was found at the crime scenes (which is not to say that it wasn't there). Now certainly Jack was not your average male and therefore we cannot understand how he derived sexual satisfaction (if he did at all). But here is my question as it relates to MJK. If the mutilations relate in any way to some type of substitute for intercourse, how could they have been so extensive in Mary's case? Having her all to himself must have been incredibly arousing. Don't you think that at some point he would have achieved orgasm and having done so his desire to mutilate would have waned as well? Yet it seems that he only stopped with the daylight and the fear of discovery. Again I am not saying that slashing and mutilation had to equate with sexual intercourse for Jack but I think you can see what I am driving at. If there was any sexual satisfaction to be derived from what he did to Mary, would the mutilations have been so extensive or was he so twisted that any type of comparison to rational behavior is meaningless?

After having studied the 'colourized' and enlarged version of the Mary Kelly photo, I believe that her right eye is, in fact, visible. It lies in a small area that is devoid of blood. The original B&W photo is just to much of a mess to make sense of. Once you can visualize an eye on Mary's face, it definitely humanizes it.

Mr c.d.
There is one thing I have always believed as to the motivation of this chap, whether religious, sexual or occult, or all three.I believe that he believed what he was doing was just and right.By choosing what he saw as wrong doers, prostitutes, than he gave himself the justification in the eyes of god. That was probably the motivation he needed as a guise for his real motivation - which we can only speculate on.
Why were Kelly's mutialtions so extensive? Now that he finally got his victim indoors, without having to run the gauntlet of police and witnessess outdoors, he was like a kid in a candy store. He could finally let loose with all his desire.I agree that sunlight may have halted his escapade, but he would have been well satisfied of his results.

I do not believe the mutilations , or his true motives had any sexual connotations at all.I certainly dont believe he engadged in any intercourse with his victims.Judging by what he did to Mary Kelly, and his previous victims, it showed a total disregard, or contempt, for them personally.I think his contempt for them would indicate he was not thinking amourously of them .
