On Saturday evening, under the auspices of "The Cymmrodorion Society," an organization, dating from 1751, for the encouragement of literature, poetry, music, science, and art, as more immediately connected with Wales, a lecture on "The History of the Potter's Art in Britain" was delivered by Professor Rudler, F.G.S., who fills the chair of Natural Science in the University College of Wales. On the motion of the Society's Secretary, Mr. C.W. Jones, Mr. Gladstone, whose entrance the crowd greeted by rising from their seats and by hearty and prolonged cheering, presided.
