Suzi, wow, they're so different! Annie looks down to earth and domestic, while Kate reminds me of the Donatello Mary Magdalene. As for 3 and 4, do you remember what Spock saw when he looked at the Medusa without wearing a visor? Robert |

Robert L(!)... I know what you mean looking at Kate..rather sadly it reminds me of great friend who died suddenly last year known as Kathleen all her life or Kath... but always wanted to be known as Kate.....maybe now she is....... She'd have liked that!! God Francis Bacon springs to mind here THANKS Rob (c) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Suzi

Hi Suzi Maybe I shouldn't say this, because it's a bit of a cliche, but there is something definitely crucifixion-like in Kate's appearance and the angle of her head. Robert |

Hi Suzi, I totally love you style, it is so vibrant and animated..........(bit like you I think!) It is true though that an artist's style is so much like their own personality.........your work is so alive and exciting..........I do love the ones of Kate and Annie, and I think you have just about caught their personalities there........the eye is totally freaky.........and the one of Hutch's man really gave me shivers ( and he didn't even do anything!) Are you going to do one of Mary? Anyway, well done Suzi, keep them coming....... Lots of Love Jane xxxxxx |

Loved the Annie Chapman one Suzi.More Toulouse Lautrec than Francis Bacon but such a blousy face this and so full of fragility and toughness-I love the contradiction.Hutchinson"s man is a bit Bacon like and brilliantly illuminated!Great stuff! Natalie |

HI everyone, I suddenly realised that I never posted a colour pic of Polly after all, so here she is...and I tided Liz up a bit and here is the revised version of her as well. I have nearly finished one of Mary defending her territory outside the Ten Bells pub, but want to get it just right and I will post that as soon as it is finished. Hope you're feeling better Suzi! Hi Jane, I prefer the colour version of Polly. She looks as though she enjoys a good laugh and the colour enhances that effect. Both ones of Liz are excellent. You didnt need to "tidy" it actually but its good to see it again anyway! Natalie ps I dont know whats happened to mine on the previous thread-they wont come up-must look into it later. |

Have just finished a big square oil painting of Mary"s face-based on those awful police illustrations that her "friends" described and the outline of her face in the photograph..I now need to decide whether or not to "veil" it in red varnish! Suzi they sound great-very intricate and I too love black and white.Looking forward to seeing them,Good Luck! Nats xxx |

Hi Maria, Although I have "finished " it I think I would still like to apply a coat of Dammar varnish to it probably mixed with red paint. This means waiting until its dry which will be another day or two. After that I willpost it.Don"t know whether you will like it.It is as authentic as I can make it from descriptions used for the police "reconstruction" in the their illustration which is in Donald Rumbelows book and the photo. Thanks for the interest Maria. Natalie |

Jane, As usual you have captured Mary wonderfully. You must have some deeper connection to her, as your insights into what I believe she might have looked like are uncanny. You have given her soul, both in the face picture you have done previously and also in this one. Great job!!! Love, Carolyn |

Jane! Wow! Thats certainly a MARY!!! ...Am a tad worried tho.. about the split skirt and the cleavage etc ...Blimey it was 8th November and seriously nippy!!!! Think she may have made some use of that maroon crossover shawl...she was wearing it that night and poor dab was up and down like a 'pig at a fair' that night little knowing she'd be trussed up like one the next am! Mary's legs and ample cleavage are featured heavily for my dear Howie............xxxxxxxxx the paving stones for Glenn and big hugs for Suzi, Diana, Carolyn and Nats...... Hi there, It is splendid as always. I mean, how can anyone NOT love Jane's Mary Kelly? She is so charismatic. And don't tell me how I'd know, but for some strange reasons her facial features seems to fit the the more or less invisible ones on the rather morbid photo. Weird. I like these "scenes" that we never usually get to see depicted. This is quite a funny one. And I like the two smudged women to the left. Thanks for the pavement stones, Jane. All the best G. Jane, I had an idea, but I don't have the talent to execute it. Have you ever considered taking the various eyewitness descriptions of the Ripper and making portraits based on them? My thought would be to create them in such a manner that any two of them or any combination of several of them could be morphed together. For instance, if I thought the sighting of "Blotchy Face" at Miller's Court was probably genuine and the sighting by Israel Schwartz of Mr. Broadshoulders was genuine, I could take your two portraits of those two and have a computer morph them together. Is it technically possible to do this? I don't have your talent. Would you be willing to try? |

Hi Diana and Hutch, I am going to have a go at that at some point, in fact I have started, but I have to do a lot of research on LVP costume etc., the last try out ended up looking like Laurel and Hardy. mmmmmmmmm I wonder if Glenn had any English ancestors.......put a big watch chain on him and wax his moustache up a bit......I think you might be onto something there, He is so going to kill me........love you really Glenn Jane xxxxxxxx
