Hi Suzi,
No good - 'Diddles HAS done it' would be better than 'Diddles done it', but should then be rendered 'Diddles's done it', not 'Diddle's'.
I wouldn't mind the slang 'It's Diddles what done it', but since you have failed to cough up a fur ball of proof that it was Diddles what done it, I think the whole thing is purr-fidious anyway.

Well, you see... I'm not altogether sure that Diddles was the perpetrator in the Whitechapel murders after all.... I mean, he was a cat, and I just tried to give the meanest of my cats a knife to hold, and he simply couldn't do it. No way could he do it! The most he could do was raise his left middle toe towards me (I'm mystified as to what he might have meant by that) and simply dropped the knife, and went off to clean himself.
How exactly do either of you propose Diddles actually carried out these horrible - no! terrible! murders?? I'd really like to know!
Show me some proof - I mean proof, not some pictures that could easily have been artistically put together (not at all saying that the both of you aren't artisitic.. I know you both are).
Just show me proof, yeh?

The knife-wielding part isn't much of a reason to dismiss Diddles as the prime suspect. Here's a pic of a cat named CJ with a knife:
And before you wonder if a four-legged animal could walk around and still carry a knife, here's a pic of a dog who learned to walk upright as a biped (based upon not having a full quad to be a quadruped anymore):
Note that these are undoctored photos from actual news events about these remarkable animals. Put the two talents together and you've got something to be very fearful of.

Hi Wintergreen.
The ultimate in bad taste. You are a very naughty, naughty man (surprised Spry allowed it to be honest - I posted a photographic plea from Polly last year for some people to stop argueing which never saw the light of day!). It is one of those situations where you just know there is a stream of people out there who have found what you've done very offensive and may well post something to that extent here, but there are those of us who like to listen to Derek & Clive and find your little piece - in a guilty way - very funny and groundbreaking in its trashing of moral decency!
I agree with Glenn totally. But then I usually do!
And now we know who damaged the MJK photograph in the first place. Is that a claw mark?
And just because I haven't mentioned the Goulston Street one, it doesn't mean I don't love it to bits. What a smashing greetings card it would make!
