Suzi, I am not sure if the authors may appreciate it as such --- depends on their humour -- I just though Fido would be cool, since he is a somewhat special character and personality in his own right.. not to mention Colin Wilson... Glenn - I can think of a cat we need. I'll give you a clue : He used to wait for them outside The Palladium and follow them home. He must have killed at least 60. Everyone else : Don't you HATE private jokes? If it's a Fido Cat then it has to be pointing to a place 10 yards from a Ripper site! PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!

Hutch, "....He used to wait for them outside The Palladium and follow them home. He must have killed at least 60." Hahaha... yeah he's a beauty, that old Irish man. That clip should be viewed at the Conference just for the fun of it. Talk about stray cat... "If it's a Fido Cat then it has to be pointing to a place 10 yards from a Ripper site!" Hihihi... Yes, and saying; "we can be viiiirtually certain..." or "a complete fairy-tale, a hoax and a whopping fib". hehe... (Sorry, Martin, no pun intended -- we love you, man...) All the best G. Does the fact that Diddles was the Ripper connect in any way with the fact that Warren & Co. were afraid to use Barnaby and Burgho at Millers Court? Some kind of cat/dog hate thing? |

Suzi - Congrats on exceeding your 2000th thingy. I'm knackered at the moment (just had a 15-hour working day - I'm getting more and more Victorian by the hour!) so won't be long. What an awful Ripper walk tonight. Most of them were English and drunk, loud, thought themselves witty but weren't, and one of them relieved himself on the corner of Wentworth and Goulston! I couldn't believe what he was doing so I shouted at the crowd to all turn and look at him in the hope it would embarrass him to stop, and he gave the whole group a full-frontal (Jane - he was clearly looking at a certain image some of us have seen with your computer porn!). We got nearly £90 in tips tonight which almost made up for it. It was a horrible evening though. I felt so sorry for the foreign tourists - looking at it through their eyes the image of the English yob was alive and well in a dozen of the 25 Brits that were there. Still - nice to see Don is back on the job after his op. He was in good spirits. On top of this, my eBay access has almost completely broken down (I will probably have to have a PC rebuild some point soon so may be offline for a few days) and I just paid out £100 for a specialist record deck that doesn't work. I'm a glum puss. I went to see TEAM AMERICA last night, and they had killer panthers in it that murdered American film actors. Do you know what they were? BIG BLACK PUSSYCATS!!! I instantly thought of you-know-who. 39 times. Suzi - nice to see your PC area (sounds a bit rude, actually!). I'm tempted to post MY PC area. I have a Bagpuss Mouse Mat. I have something else cat-like also. I love your 'in your face' cat. Deffo. Jeff - yeah, great idea! Very clever (so you must be destroyed!!!). The probs a lot of folk have with uploading to the site is because the images are too large. You have to adjust them with your scanner/Photoshop software so they are a max of 600x600 pixels. If you make sure you are on a new blank line in the message bit you type into, click on 'Upload Attachment', fill in in the first box what you want the image to be called (anything will do really), click on Browse and find the image in your PC (don't do what Suzi does and save them with nonsense names so you can never find them again. It would be difficult enough if she was normal, but she's out of her tree which makes it doubly difficult! ) and then just upload it. Once in a blue moon it won't upload after it has assigned it a title (the code for it won't join onto the message box). If that is the case, upload it again, but paste the code from the one it comes up and tells you it has given the image in the window and click it into the message box. It is a lot easier than I've just made it sound, but then I have a carrot for a brain. Great for ignoring the troubles of the world, but I have to keep away from rabbits. Nats - Nothing really. Just hello! PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!

Hutch, Sorry to hear about that Ripper walk. Doesen't sound that pleasant at all. One can only hope that the tips made up for it, but it is annoying with people who gets carelessly drunk and ruins the experience for others. Seems like you and some of the others in your group had an unfortunate night. I can only hope those things doesen't happen too often. Ah, so Don's back, eh? All the best G. Philip, Well... thanks for that lengthy missive telling us all about your day, how to upload and what you had for dinner, just about! I'd reply by telling you about my day (in brief, it sucked! And only $15 in tips - and no full frontal of a drunken Brit taking a whiz!) but this is the seriously serious Diddles thread, and it would be off topic. So, I'll go with encouraging Jeff to post his "Cat That Got the Cream" pic. No further instruction on how to do so (since I don't have a clue how to, and Suz and Philip already have - though I'm still clueless even after reading their "how to's"). Jeff, sounds very much like a pic I'd like to see, and since you should know how to post it now, no excuses not to.. post away! Suz, I'd attempt to upload pics of my Millar's Ct den of vice.. but no one would want to see them, believe me! Well, forgive me for such a boring post, guys, but I really did have a crappy day, and I'm not currently in my right mind - and not at all sure what exactly my right mind should be... Hi Suzi, I am not offended by this thread, i do have a sense of humour, in my job one needs one... I do not sit by my PC with a Bible in one hand condeeming the morality of cats being portrayed as victim and killer. My beef is the principle of this site is to educate people intrested in 'Jack' and the victorian mystery, and it is intended to be , and rightfully so a serious subject [murder always is.] and this actual thread seems to give a spoof type attitude to what is and was a series of hidious attacks on defenceless women. I know none of the contributors to this thread mean any disrespect, but my question is , What is it all intended to be about?. regards Richard. |

Hi Phil, I Have expressed my point of view, I have not been aggressive in my attitude that is not my approach, i just gave my personal opinion which i have every right to do. You must appreciate that every thread on these boards since there creation years ago, has differences of opinion, [ I should know] and one can not expect everyone reading this thread to agree, and to suggest that they should keep quiet, and not upset the applecart is unrealistic. Richard - you yourself said you were leaving the thread, and hinted you were leaving the site but would reserve right to post as you saw fit, which is not leaving the site at all. I have read plenty of your postings on this site which I think are totally ridiculous and frequently contradictory. I have not commented because that would be destructive. Your attitude, sir, has been that of the type of school bully who throws the punches but if one fights back then blames the defender. I, nor the other posters on this thread, have nothing whatsoever to justify to you. Consequently, unless you should libel me on this site, for the benefit of my wellbeing and the positive nature of this thread, I shall not respond to anything else you should write on this thread or anywhere else. And when I say that, I intend to maintain the assertion. Everybody else : I am sorry; I have just had enough of it. PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!

Folkies - I got sent an e-mail today completely independant of the Diddles thread in any way from someone who is not into JTR at all, but reading it I had to wonder who the author might have been. It is an excerpt from a cat's diary - it's given me a few ideas for the Diddles book! "Day 183 of my captivity... My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant. Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded and must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair -- must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan. There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait; it is only a matter of time..." PHILIP

Hi Suzi. It always takes a woman to calm me down, you have my assurance that i will never visit this thread again, even if Phil responds aggressively. I shall however continue my opinions on other threads, for the Ripper saga is in my blood, and I cannot throw away 40 years of intrest over a cat called Diddles. It is regret that Phil describes my posts as ridiculous I know for a fact others find my enthusiasm Respectful, Love me or hate me[ sorry Philip] unless i break the code of Stephen i am here to stay. I should add I wish you all the best at the convention with the T shirts and booklet, after all that is the main concern to you all. Regards Richard. |
