The short article below is from the Bluefield Daily Telegraph and refers to a suspect just mentioned as Calor. Anyone known anything about him as I have been unable to find out any more? The article dates from 22 December 1903

Hi, Chris: This article refers to the December 1903 murder of Sarah Martin, as reported by Michael Conlon in "Ripper Redux." The man convicted of the murder, Emil Totterman, was a sailor. I am not sure how "Calor" and the Kilpatrick fit into the picture. Totterman appears to have been too young to have been the murderer who operated in London in 1888. All the best Chris |

Interesting though that the murder took place in the "Kelly" Hotel. Amazing how often that name turns up isn't it? Looking at the article it mentions that Totterman had previously used the name Carl Nielson, and that the name in the hotel registry had been similar to Elston. Neilson is similar to Elston, and Carl is similar to Calor. Just a thought. |
