There's a number of references to Martin Kosminski in the new digitalized version of the London Times. One of the most interesting is a Middlesex Sessions report concerning Kosminski's business being broken into and robbed of 40 beaver and 62 seal skins. (3 April, 1872). A brief notice announces that his partnership with 'S. Kosminski' of Cannon-Street is dissolved in March 1889. As late as November, 1909 there is a prominent display ad for Martin Kosminski's furrier shop, selling "Gentleman's Fur-Lined Coats", 50 Berners Street, Oxford Street. Everything seems to point to Kosminski being a prominent businessman. There is also reference to a Miss Jessie Kosminski, at several social functions in London. She was evidently a singer. A relation to Martin? (Message edited by rjpalmer on June 07, 2004) |

Jessie Kosminski must be Martin's daughter, listed as 16 in the 1891 Census. |
