Nope, they weren't classmates. Wray was a 76 year old guitarist who died yesterday in Copenhagen. Here is the URL for the obituary on AOL. It includes the listenable download of his song....Jack The Ripper. Rockabilly fans will remember his collaboration with Robert Gordon in the mid-1970's. They made one pretty decent rockabilly album... http://articles.news.aol.com/music/article.adp?id=20051121093109990008&ncid=NWS00010000000001 |

Anyone who would like to buy a Near Mint 45 of "Jack the Ripper" by Wray can make a bid. Don. "He was so bad at foreign languages he needed subtitles to watch Marcel Marceau."

Many people will know Link Wray for his track RUMBLE, beloved of Quentin Tarantino. PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!

He got Jack the Ripper spot on, didn't he. Also, I think Rumble doesn't mean Rumble, it means something else (I haven't seen the film). Best wishes. |

Am I stating the obvious by saying Link Wray's RUMBLE meant RUMBLE as in a fight between street gangs, and not the rumble of, say, Diddles releasing 1000 tins of Whiskas from the back of a lorry on Commercial Street? PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!
