I've come up with another one, folks. I have found a dealer and yesterday I received a nice 78 of Bransby Williams' 'The Caretaker', which was the first known recorded use of the term Jack The Ripper. I also bought a 78 by William Booth of the Salvation Army, which I guess has passing interest to us. I have transferred it via my equalisers and burners etc into MP3 format. If anyone wants to hear Booth's voice - and it is very unusual! - then e-mail me and I'll send the files on to you (you will need a REAL PLAYER to hear them). PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!

Robert - it is indeed the B-side of the disc called DON'T FORGET. The quality on the web download is not a PATCH on my copy, though. Maybe I should offer to send them a better one? PHILIP Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd!

Hi Philip Yes, why not? But what are you playing it on? Can you still get 78 rpm players in this country? I have a number of 78s I'd like to play, but it's all I can do to get an ordinary record player that works for more than a few weeks! Robert |
