I just found a graphic novel based on the CSI television show that takes place at a Jack the Ripper convention. It has, of course, no basis in reality (somebody may have read an encyclopedia entry for Jack the Ripper}. It's a hoot, and worth standing in the bookstore and reading. All the attendees are in elaborate costumes and speaking with bad fake accents(yes, it's in print, but you can tell they're bad}. The convention sponsor is named Tumblety. It's hilarious, but I guess they didn't mean it to be! "The past isn't over. It isn't even past." William Faulkner |
