Hello Stephen Leece, No, I do not know Superintendent Arnpld's date of death. The "A to Z of Jack the Ripper" does not give it (unusual). If you are serious about tracking it down, try THE TIMES indexes (London) for after 1893, when he resigned and London newspapers gave several references to his Retirement, Testimonial and Presentation(s).Most major libraries will have these indexes. I obtained the date of his Resignation from the following Web Site: www.lightage.demon.co.uk This unusual site has The (British) POLICE INDEX. If you read the site Home Page, you can contact them and pay for copies of all the press mentions of your policeman.You can check his name entries in the Index. Except it does not mention his death. He was a popular officer by the looks of things. Good Luck. |
