Though the “Dear Boss” letter of 25th September 1888 is regarded as ‘the’ Dear Boss letter, what of the letter of 17th September beginning “Dear Boss”. Although I believe it was a later ‘discovery’ in the archives, there is no definitive information I can find to disprove its provenance any more than the other “Ripper” letters in the archives. So what is the problem with it?

The letter of 17th September are full of small sketches, very much resembling the sketches of Walter Sickert. That may be one of the problems?
Enlarge the letter and you will find a lot of small sketches and portraits, showing that the writer was an artist. In one case the spelling is changed (wrong) in order to create two eyes in a small face.
“I´m rite under your nose”.
