It has occured to me that Mary Ann Cox saw Mary in the company of a 'stout, shabby man in a hat'...Now ,if we take out the Blotchy bit,Carroty moustache and the billycock from this description and put in the darkness of the hour.......

We then pick up Sarah Lewis and her description of a short, stocky man in a wideawake hat at 2.30am ish

Maybe JUST maybe at 11.45 in the undoubtedly VERY poor light ,a carroty moustache and the blotchiness etc etc, may have been an abberation .....

So COULD Mr Blotchy have been Hutchinson???

Dear Suzi,

If GH and BM are the same why did GH leave MJK's room to stand outside in the freezing cold having on at least one previous occasion gained access?

I dont think we should toss Suzi's idea because we havent worked through the inconsistencies yet. I don't know why he would linger either, having done the deed. But that just piques my curiosity more. SK's like to relive the experience. They often go back to the SOC (how about that, I invented an acronym) or the victim's grave to do so. Alternatively, having got Mary drunk he is waiting for her to fall asleep so he can do his favorite blitz attack.

Bob,
Perhaps it was a chance meeting at that time,an occasion when Hutchinson was not prepared and did not have the means of mutilation(knife) on his person, but after being in the room and realising the oportunity that was offered couldn't resist.
So he leaves, retrieves the knife and returns later, first about 2.30 when deterred by the return of Lewis, and then about four o'clock when things are quiet.

Thanks Diana!

BUT... If GH was JTR... then after being AM he may have disappeared into the background again reappearing as GH!

Now... IF ........IF GH had anything to do with the dread deed then he may have just been old Mr GH on the Street....no one to bother about...HENCE its a good move to be seen lurking in the doorway to be seen by Sarah Lewis and thereby provide his own alibi

AAGH HOPE THERE SOME SORT OF SENSE THERE!!!!! Well it is Xmas Eve!!!!!

Love Suzi x

If we shoot quickly up from 1888 to 1906 and examine the strange case of the Camberley murder - and attempted murder - on the Hog sisters, and various other attacks on women around the Broadmoor area, where vicious attacks are made on the throats of the women concerned, and then examine the witness statements describing the attacker… well, it seems to be the same red blotchy faced man that we are dealing with in 1888.
The resemblance is absolutely uncanny.
