Thread created for the very early days of RDS. Does a list of schools exist from circa 1847-1848, the years most likely when and where RDS got his first taste of chalk, unlike his later girlfriend,Mabel Collins, who did not go to school at all ? Anyone in the Hull/Sculcoates area reading this,we appreciate the help,if possible. Thanks ! HowBrown

Hi Howard, Savage of Sculcoates here sir. I did find a little bit of correspondence in the local library concerning RDS education, it simply said that they had searched their records, but could find nothing. I shall be back on the case as soon as time allows, and will post anything I find. Rgds John |

Hi Robert, Thanks for those links, I have come across the dixon one before, it is a most helpful introduction to the history of the area. The Hull pubs site, well, I could have written it myself if I didn't spend so much time visiting the damn places. Rgds John |
