Tumblety was arrested on 7th November 1888 on charges of gross indecency against 4 individuals: 1) John Doughty 2) Arthur Brice 3) Albert Fisher 4) James Crowley I believe that one of these can be identified with some certainty owing to 1) the rarity of the name and 2) the likely age of young men in whom Tumblety was alleged to be interested. This leads to the identification of Arthur Brice as follows: Arthur Robert Brice. 1871: 41 Malpas Road, Deptford, London Head: Robt H Brice aged 37 born Heckington, Lincs - Draper's manager Wife: Anna E Brice aged 34 born St Pancras Children: Frances A aged 4 born Dover Mary aged 3 born Chelsea Arthur R aged 1 born Deptford, Kent Visitor: Mary Jane Shaw aged 34 born Battle, Sussex 1881: 18 Porten Road, Hammersmith, London Head: Robert H Brice aged 46 born Heckington, Lincoln - Draper's assistant Wife: Anna E Brice aged 44 born London - Dressmaker Children: Frances Annie aged 14 born Dover Mary Louise aged 13 born Dover Arthur R aged 12 born New Cross, Kent Henry J aged 10 born New Cross Charles H aged H born New Cross Alice M aged 4 George Gibbon aged 2 Eleanor Harriet (twin) aged 7 months Flora Isabel (twin) aged 7 months Last 4 children born in Hammersmith Servant: Annie Marlin aged 18 born Hammersmith 1891: 79 Evering Road, Hackney Head: Anna Eliza Brice (Widow) aged 53 born St Pancras - Dressmaker Children: Mary Louisa aged 23 born Chelsea - Dressmaker Arthur Robert aged 21 born New Cross - Clerk Henry James aged 19 born New Cross - Clerk Charles Herbert aged 18 born New Cross - Clerk Laura aged 17 born New Cross - Draper's assistant Alice Maud aged 13 born West Kensington No trace of the family in 1901.
