Just cruising I saw this Olga Tchkersoff and wanted to know something. Who the hell is he , or she? Why is he/she on the suspect list when there have been zero postings made on it. What makes him/her a suspect? |

Dale, She was the suspect named in a relatively recent book by E.T. Woodhall. She was supposedly a Russian immigrant who settled in England with her parents. A younger sister, Vera, took to prostitution and then died of sepsis after an abortion. Olga blamed Mary Jane Kelly for leading Vera into prostitution and started killing until she settled the score with Kelly. Or so Woodhall alleges. Don. "He was so bad at foreign languages he needed subtitles to watch Marcel Marceau."

Donald, I think Woodhall, or anyone for that matter, has more chance of selling ice to the eskimoes than selling Olga as the ripper.Good luck to whoever takes up her case. What do you think?

Thanks Donald, This motive seems very flimsy to me.Has her existance been prooved on a census yet? If she was dirty at Kelly for leading her sister into prostitution, this only gives her a motive to kill Kelly. There is no reason to kill the others. Dale the snail |

Dale, First of all, thanks for saying "thanks." Too often people show up on the boards, ask a question, get an answer and disappear without ever offering a thank you. If you have an interest, join the fun and register. Stuart, No, I quite agree Olga is not a very likely suspect and for that reason I'm not sure if anyone has ever sought to verify her existence. But, should she be found to have been alive and in England in 1888, I suppose someone else might take up her "cause." After all, there are those who champion suspects known to have been in the hospital, jail or out of the country at the time of the murders. Don.
