That's great, Neal. I like that it doesn't reference the Ripper, just the victim. Thanks for posting. Best, Dave |

Hi Neal, Just wondering exactly where this plaque is. I was at the cemetery in July and photoed the Eddowes and Nicholls gravesites which have similar, if not identical, plaques. But the ones I saw were mounted on grass. I don't recall seeing any mounted on pavement. Where in the cemetery is this? Andy S.

Thanks, Neal. I didn't remember any pavement at all. I'll have to dig out that photo I took again! Or could that pavement be new? Nicholls' gravesite is almost right across the roadway. Andy S.

The slabs are just around the new plaques. They are both to the side of the road on opposite sides. It certainly looks more impressive.

According to David McCarthy of the City of London cemetery, Mary Ann Nichols was the first of six coffins in her grave area, whereas Catherine Eddowes was the last of six so is on top. Both in square 318 but different numbers. |

Catherine Eddowes sister Eliza Frost (aka Gold) was also buried there in a common grave at square 369, number 82764. She was buried on 19th January 1893. |
