Hi, I am doing a school project on Jack the Ripper for my A level and I need a bit of help. I am trying to find some primary evidence about Amelia Richardson and the neighbours charging people to come and look at the murder scene, but i cannot find any anywhere. I would be extremely appreciative of any help you can give me Eileen |

Hi Eileen, Stephen has put up a useful feature which allows you to search only the newspaper reports. You can find it here. You can fiddle around with search terms; I found using "admission" turned up a brief mention of Mrs. Richardson's neighbors charging a penny a head to peek over into the yard of No. 29. Good luck with your project, Eileen. Best, Dave (Message edited by oberlin on January 06, 2005) |

Eileen There is a short description of this activity included in an article I wrote for Ripperologist last year. You can find the text of this article here. Hope that helps. "Everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise."
