Just an oddity this. It comes from a piece of fiction called "The Price One Woman Paid for a Career" in The Indianapolis Star of 21 Jan 1913 - just seemed odd to see Maybrick, The Ripper, and Clarence all listed in one sentence. Was the writer trying to tell us something??

Hi Chris, Well, it's not really surprising that a book would reference some of the biggest headlines it its day. And it's not really surprising that people trying to come up with sensationalistic Ripper storylines would chose to link the crimes to the only things they really know much about in the same rough time period, not to mention the inherent element of drama involved. It looks like the triple crown of Ripper conspiracy theories would link the passing of the Duke of Clarence, James Maybrick and the HMS Victoria all together. Chris: Lotta potential questions in this find, for sure. Couple of questions for you: 1. Who wrote this piece ? Is this, from your knowledge,a children's story or a horror story.. It seems surrealistic. 2. Is there any indication of the nationality of the person ? Yank or British? Gracias... How Brown Prop. WWW.JTRForums.com
