The March 1949 issue of True Detective Magazine (US) contains an article "I Knew Jack the Ripper" with the strapline "Griffith Gilway reveals the truth about the world's most vicious woman killer." (see below)
Does anyone know anything about Mr. Gilway or who he named as the killer?
If anyone is interested the mag is on sale on Ebay at:

This is Griffith Salway's article an suspect Alonzo Maduro, one of the old "doctor with a South American connection" theories.

Dear Chris and Dan,
Yes, Dan is correct.
A search of Casebook Message Boards will reveal for 2002 (I think) a certain John T Carlson from Louisiana, had done a fair bit of marvellous research on Alonzo Maduro. And started a thread along these lines.
My interest was the alluring title. Which sounded remarkably like Farson's long-lost 'Dandenong Document' : THE EAST END MURDERER: I KNEW HIM.
I had been in email contact with Carlson after being given the Australian publication "Master Detective" dated September 1953, which contained an almost identical article. But Carlson said my
publication had more biographical information
on the author, Griffith S. Salway who went to the US from London. He was born in Devon.
I have just emailed Carlson to alert him of the Ebay magazine being offered for sale. Thanks for telling us, Chris.
More good work from you, as usual.
