Hi All I am currently putting together an article for Dan Norder for Ripper Notes. Among the documents quoted from is James Monro's letter to his son from Darjeeling in 1904. This letter is in the Metropolitan Police Museum, but I don't have a full transcript of it, only excerpts. If necessary I will have to get down there with my laptop and copy the thing out, but if anyone has a full transcript or knows where I can find one I would be very grateful! Hi Alan, I was recently reading "Fenian Fire: The British Govt. Plot to Assasinate Queen Victoria" by Christy Campbell. I am pretty sure the letter you refer to, is quoted there, but I don't know if it is reproduced in full. Best Regards John Savage |

Thanks John but no, "Fenian Fire" only has a few short quotes from the letter. Excellent book though! "Everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise." |
