Much has been made of Jack's seeking another organ but look at what happened to three of his victims: Tabram -- her sternum was broken by a stab from a sharp object longer than a knife. It actually penetrated the heart, but the broken sternum still blocked access Eddowes -- after the abdomen was opened there were numerus cuts made to the underside of the liver, an obstruction that would have to be gotten through (and after it the diaphragm) if one were to access the pericardial area by tunnelling upward from the abdomen Kelly -- with her he succeeded. But not before he tried to get at it by removing all the tissues that were superficial to the thoracic cage (ribs) and finding that the ribs obstructed him. I think this is something he had been trying to do from the beginning. |

Interesting idea. Plausible. Not sure how we could confirm or deny that though.

You cant. Like so much else in ripperology most of the evidence is gone. We can only draw inferences. |

i doubt Jack was looking for anything specific, he was exploring and having fun. look at all the other mutilations, Eddowe's face & Kelly's legs etc. if the killer was looking for a specific organ, i'm sure it would have been much more obvious from each of the victims remains. |

Hi all the mutilations of Eddowes and Kelly seem be actions without a specific reason. Jack see at his "works" as a bad boy who kills and mutilates a bug. With a insane curiosity (I mean chiefly at the long work on Mary Jane Kelly's body, when Jack, due to the safety of room and the time, takes long time over the poor lady) Donato Fasolini |
