This past summer I went with a group of students from my university to study in London. While we were there, we went on a Ripper tour with John Kerry, one of the Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters). It was very thorough, and we were taken to the sites, and recieved very in depth information about the murders, the society at that time, and the theories surrounding the murders. (They also reccomended this site for further info). We paid at the end of the tour to ensure that we were satisfied. I have some friends going this summer, and they showed interest, the only problem is that I don't remember the name of their tour group! I know there are many Ripper Walks, and some are very expensive and rip-off's, while this tour was incredible, and only (I believe) 5 Pounds for students. We found out about it from Kerry, who was our guide on a Tower of London tour. If anyone knows the name of their tour group, please email me at LaJolieEtoile@aol.com. Thanks a lot! -Keara |

Keara I think you might be referring to Ripping Yarns. Their write up says: Although Ripping Yarns is one of the newest tour companies in London All their Guides have spent many years telling tales of the macabre, the brutal and sinister. Obviously a guided tour is only as good as the guide, and theirs are no exception to the rule. All of their guides are Yeoman Warders of Her Majesty’s Palace and Fortress, the Tower of London. During the day they thrill thousands with their tales of Murder, death and executions but in the evenings their voices become hushed, as they tell their stories of the night, and incredible through it may seem, everything they tell you is ABSOLUTELY TRUE. The price for the Jack the Ripper London walking tour is £4.00 for adults and £3.00 for students Private guided tours for Jack the Ripper walks can be arranged at a time in the evening to suit your requirements, minimum number 20 at a discount cost of £3.00 a head. Also, a finger buffet can be organised at the pub stop half way round the tour if required at a cost of £3.00 a head. Their website is at http://www.camelotintl.com/jack/ripping_yarns.html |

Thank you so much Chris! That was indeed the name of the group we went with. Although I don't know about the other Ripper tours (as I only went on the one), this was a really great tour, full of great info! Thanks a lot! |
