I was just wondering what the general attitude of the authorities would have been had someone, let's say a prostitute, killed a customer who turned out to be Jack the Ripper. What brought this to mind was an online story from the Guardian about a 63 year old blind man in Manchester(?) who was arrested and then eventually exhonerated for stabbing an intruder to death in the old mans home. Here is the link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1173056,00.html Are things that much different now? Would the intended victim have been praised or arrested? Would she have come forward or not? I wonder what the likelyhood of JTR himself eventually being murdered was? Regards, Vincent |
