Posting this here as well if somebody knows anything about it. Where I can get hold of information about the really grotesque paintings with abnormal people used in the film. This is from the sequence where "the ripper" eats meat with pouring blood from it sitting in his library. Any information about the paintings on the walls is appreciated. Thanks |

You might be referring to William Hogarth's "The Reward of Cruelty" -- try Googling it to see if its the one you mean. -K |

Hi there... This is the two paintings I'm talking about. At the end of the scene it's the William Hogarth painting. But I'm interested in knowing more about theese two paintings. Or at least the one with the male on... It's hilarious. If you know anything about where I can get information I would appreciate the help very much. I put larger images up at my website http://www.flatoutrecords.com/ripper/ Take care |

The one on the right... the somewhat simian-looking guy... I don't know where it's from, but I swear I saw it before as the Elephant Man. Not that I think that guy in the painting is NEAR deformed enough... |
