After the murder of Mary Kelly it seemed anyone who had committed the crime of murder was considered as a possible Ripper suspect. Solomon was mentioned in the Home Office files, after a letter was received from the officers at Woking prison, dated the 15 November 1888, which suggested that Solomon, the murderer, may be Jack the Ripper. The Home Office file continued to say that his was an ordinary criminal case.
