At Worship street, Kate Marshall, 44, whip maker, charged with the wilful murder of her sister Elizabeth, the wife of a man named Roberts, was brought up on remand. Mr. Avory, barrister, appeared for the Treasury to conduct the case, Mr. Havelock defending, The prisoner gave evidence on oath, and denied having committed the murder, suggesting that the death of her sister was due to an attack made by her own husband. In cross examination she admitted that she had been frequently convicted for stabbing. The prisoner was committed for trial at the January sessions of the Central Criminal Court.
