Here's a Chance to Give Whitechapel Jack the Ripper a Rest

Wolcott, N.Y., Dec. 27, 1888.-James Green, a prosperous farmer, whose married life had been particularly miserable, ended it to-day sharply and surely.
At nine o'clock this morning, when the children had left home and Mrs. Green was the only person in the house, Green made his appearance, and producing a butcher knife, said he was going to kill her. Then, notwithstanding her cries for mercy, he seized her by the hair and cut her throat, leaving her for dead upon the floor.
Green then went to the barn and cut his own throat, but not so badly but that he could drag himself to the house and to his own room, where he was found a few hours later. The tragedy was discovered when the children returned. The murderer has a chance of recovery.
