General Booth, of the Salvation Army, waited on Mr Matthews, the Home Secretary, yesterday, and presented him with a memorial asking for Government grant of £15,000, or free land of equal value, to enable the Army to establish a shelter for the women who have been thrown into distress by terror of the Whitechapel murders.
