Chicago, April 20.
The nude body of a woman was taken from the water at the foot of Peck court about 10 a.m. It was most frightfully mutilated and resembled the remains of the victims of Jack the Ripper. A deep cut extended from the breast to the lower part of the abdomen, the intestines protruding. Both of the legs were missing and the whole body was mutilated and bruised. The police are of the opinion that the woman was murdered, but the fact is that the body is so decomposed that a post mortem alone can determine whether wounds were caused by instruments or by the body washing against the rocks.
