The Press Association is informed that, at about two o'clock this morning, a policeman was knocked down and it is feared fatally injured by a cab in the Whitechapel road. The details of the accident could not be ascertained, but it appeared that the officer was knocked down by the horse, and the wheels of the vehicle passed over his throat. The driver of the cab was taken into custody.
