A Woman's Mutilated Remains Found Near London

A parcel containing the lower portion of a woman's body, cut in halves, was found in the Thames at Horsley Down. Another
parcel, in which were a woman's thighs, was picked up at Battersea. Both were wrapped in pieces of a woman's drawers, on
which the name Fisher was marked. The trunk and thighs evidently belonged to the same, which was of a well developed person.
The remains had probably been in the water for ten days. It is feared that Jack the Ripper has again been at work.
The condition of the remains found at Horsley Down shows clearly that the woman had recently given birth to a child. It is believed that she was the victim of malpractice, and that the persons connected with the operation cut the body up in order to escape discovery. The doctors have examined the remains and declare that they could not have been in the water over twenty four hours. They think the woman was about 25 years of age.
